As it is evident at this time in the primary season, Barak Obama will be the nominee for the Democratics in the November election, I felt it was time to “let it all out” and get rid of some of my frustrations. Let’s review how he got here….

1. It all began with the media…I am not sure why the majority of media “experts” and pundits had it in for Hillary from the start, but that they did. From the very beginning, all of the stories and blogs were against her. I guess they (even the women) are afraid of a strong female candidate. Sure she and Bill made some mistakes, but by pouncing on all of them in the most derogatory and spiteful way, the brainwashing had begun. Just check back to some of the headlines and you’ll see what I mean.

2. Her campaign staff…for a smart woman (and a former President) they sure picked a bunch of losers. The Clinton campaign was supposed to be so far and above the Obama group in campaigning and stragegy, that they were further set back by the incompetance of the staff.

3. Superdelegates and “friends”…boy with friends like these who needs Republicans? As soon as some of these people got a whiff of the Obamabots climbing in the polls and winning delegates, the “supers” assumed the role of the proverbial rats…and the ship began to sink. I maintain that the major reason they are all flocking to Obama is that they don’t want to be perceived as being racist. The favourite theory out there is that if you don’t want Obama to be President, you must be a racist. But of course, if you don’t want Hillary to be President, well you are just smart. What a bunch of crap. And for all of you denying this theory, you are liars.

Here is where I would like to add a special category…friends in low places…Bill Richardson, John Edwards and Ted Kennedy to name just 3…I have a question for you….what happened to the Obama mantra that all you “supers” and “wanna-be’s” should back the person your state voted for? New Mexico, and Massachussets voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!

4. Obama supporters…it was mentioned on CNN that the Hillary supporters were mean spirited and nasty when blogging. I think Jack Cafferty should really read the posts, because if he wasn’t so blinded by hatred of HIllary, he would have seen that it was the Obamabots that were spewing the venom towards Hillary and her supporters. I have never read or heard such ugly and hateful comments for anyone (even Bush). And when they didn’t like something that was reported in a positive light about Hillary, (very rarely) the Obamabots railed at the media as being biased for Hillary. I really think they are so scared of her that they had no other recourse but to post these nasty comments. And when they didn’t like the poll results, they said they meant nothing, but when the polls showed Obama doing better, well then, of course the polls should be taken seriously.

5. Barak and Michelle Obama…truth be told, it was their campaign that started using the race card. When Bill Clinton made his remarks in South Carolina, the Obama camp was pretty happy because then everyone jumped on him for making such hateful, racist remarks. Get real!!! Bill and Hillary Clinton are the LAST ones that should be called racist after all they have championed for blacks over the years. It just proves that one or two words taken out of context can be made to sound like the exact opposite. (So thanks to the media as well for this one)

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for and America is going to pay dearly come November.

It’s one thing when the government takes their cut from your paycheck, but it’s something entirely different when a government subsidized company is allowed to outbid a private company and screw people out of a job. I am talking about the Calgary Stampede being in bed with the Canadian Broadcasting Company. For 4 years, a very talented crew of television production personnel worked with the Stampede to bring viewers around the world the very best the Rodeo and Chuckwagons had to offer. This crew worked for a privately owned production company that was put together specifically to cover the Stampede.

in 2007, the powers-that-be at the Stampede overspent (by a mile) their budget. They wanted to move into high definition, and heaven only knows what else they misspent their budget on - and didn’t really increase the fees that the Rightsholders had to pay for hilights and information regarding the Stampede.

Well, in January of this year, along comes the CBC and tells the Stampede that THEY want to come back to cover the Stampede and they want to be the Host Broadcaster too. That means that CBC shoots all of the events and each television station that pays a Rightsholder fee, has access to the footage.

The Stampede allowed the CBC to underbid the private company and was willing to accept a bribe…oops I mean percs, in return for a 3 year contract.

Here’s my question…why is a government owned company, paid for by our tax dollars, allowed to swoop in and take the paychecks away from “ordinary” citizens. It’s time the CRTC (Canadian Radio Television Commission) stepped in and put an end to this. The CBC has been getting away with this for far too long, and the CRTC needs to put a stop to this dispicable conduct. The CBC crews are the highest paid, underworked people in TV. They are allowed to outbid private broadcasters for Hockey and any other event they think they want.

They have taken more than $5,000 from my income this year, because they are greedy and have no business being in business.

There’s no shame in losing – at least when there is an honest effort to win. Right? Ever wonder why hockey players specifically (atheletes in general) have the same pat lines following an abysmal showing at a crucial time? “Well, you know, we really needed to win, and we’re not happy with ourselves, but, well you know….” ”They were just hungrier than we were” “We just didn’t show up tonight”.

I am just so sick of hearing these lame excuses every time the spoiled brats can’t be bothered to show up for “work”. Let them try working in the real world. How many of us are pampered the way these guys are? Not a lot I’ll bet. What about the parent who can’t afford a tank of gas for the family car, let alone buy tickets to take their kid(s) to a hockey game, only to see their heros lose again? And when it’s all over, hear them spit out the same “we didn’t deserve to win” condescending lines?

There’s no way the team or the players are going to give back the price of a ticket for a lackluster performance. But here’s a suggestion for the pro teams who want to incite their players to play their “money’s worth” for each game.

Remove 10% of a players’ game paycheck and give it to charity. Not the whole team. (Unless the whole team was at fault). But just the ones that couldn’t tell which end they were supposed to shoot at. I’ll bet you get their attention pretty damned fast.

Just a thought…..
